The snow, accompanied by ice, returns from the east. Météo-France placed, on Friday, January 7, the departments of Moselle and Meurthe-et-Moselle on orange vigilance for snow and ice. “The snowy episode will be fairly brief but the snow will hold onto the ground and may cause traffic difficulties”, warns the meteorological service in its forecast bulletin. “The event therefore requires special vigilance.” Vigilance will be effective until Saturday January 8 at 6 a.m.
According to Météo-France, the first snowfall is expected “around 10pm on the Meurthe-et-Moselle to evacuate via the East Moselle around 7am at the latest”. “The snow activity will be quite marked with intensities of the order of 0.5 to 1cm / h and temporarily in places 1 to 3cm / h”, specifies the organization. “Throughout this episode, we expect average snow depths of the order of 3 to 7cm and up to 10cm locally and on the heights of the departments.”
