Many an actually reliable weather app on the smartphone can also go crazy: Often only rain is predicted, whether it is actually pouring or there is not a cloud in sight all day. This is often only partly due to the weather.
Weather apps on the smartphone: why does it always rain?
Between thunderstorms and storms on the one hand, and days and weeks of drought and heat on the other, you can sometimes get conflicting information from your weather app. Whether on Android or iPhone, the picture is the same everywhere: rain and more rain although in many places not a drop falls for days. Or have you only gotten a drop or two in the last few days despite the severe weather warning and expected heavy rain by the liter?
Anyone who regularly checks the weather on their smartphone – before going for an evening walk with the dog, for example, or as part of planning the weekend – will have stumbled upon it at some point: the weather is chaotic. For example, the prospects for iPhone users are bleak from time to time:
There are several reasons for the strange weather app phenomenon: On the one hand, this is Weather in summer and autumn usually less stable than in winter. Unsettled weather in itself is nothing new. The new thing about this problem is with online weather services and weather apps. These would often refer to the free American forecast model Global Forecast System (GFS). However, this cannot reflect the events in Europe and Germany as well as the European and German weather models. So says Schmidt: “Predictions on the cell phone are enjoy with caution.”

You can find a large selection in the Apple App Store and in the Google Play Store. So you can rely a little more on the information on your cell phone before you set off.
Of course, the weather forecast can actually be really cloudy and the surprising sight of days of rain can’t deceive you – like these days. In these cases it is then hang in there, nicer weather is coming again. And you should also be prepared for real emergencies, for example with the NINA app.
