Weather forecast: eight departments placed in orange vigilance “rain-flood” and “floods”

Meteo-France placed at the end of the morning this Sunday, January 9, eight departments in orange vigilance “rain-flood” and “floods.

This episode of heavy rainfall now concerns, in addition to the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, the Hautes-Pyrénées, Haute-Garonne and Ariège, the departments of Gers and Landes.

Activated from Saturday, the orange flood vigilance remains in place in the North and the alert has been extended in the Aisne.

A pluvio-snowy episode is underway in the Pyrenean departments, with weak to moderate activity at first, details Météo France. The rains are expected to become more sustained in the evening and overnight from Sunday to Monday.

This strengthening is accompanied by significant warmth in the Pyrenees, the rains then replacing the snow in the mountains. The episode should continue like this until Monday afternoon and end Tuesday during the day.

Accumulated precipitation could reach 250 mm locally in the mountains.
