After heavy rain and hail this weekend, new storms are announced this Monday: at 10 a.m., Météo France placed four eastern departments on orange alert. These are the Rhône, the Loire, the Haute-Loire and the Ardèche. The alert runs for the afternoon.
“In the middle of the afternoon, a stormy zone having affected the Southern Alps is moving away towards Italy. At the rear, new storms are forming from Puy-de-Dôme to Haute-Loire and Lozère, without presenting a violent character for the moment, ”specifies the vigilance of Météo France.
A Saint-Étienne – Lyon line
“Stormy activity will increase in the east of the Massif Central over the next few hours, in particular in the departments placed on orange vigilance where sometimes heavy hail falls (diameter greater than 2 cm) are possible until the end of afternoon/early evening. “, explains Meteo France. “For the Loire (42) and Rhône (69) departments, it is mainly the south of a Saint-Étienne – Lyon line that is concerned. Gusts of 80 to 90 km / h are possible, as well as accumulations of 20 to 40 mm in a short time, ”continues the organization.
“These storms will reach the Alpine regions during the afternoon, but will lose some of their intensity. Gusts and hailstorms will nevertheless remain possible, but of less intensity”.
