Weather storms: thirteen departments placed in orange vigilance


Thirteen departments in central France, threatened by thunderstorms this Sunday, have been placed on orange alert by Météo-France.

The alert mainly concerns Limousin, Auvergne and Poitou-Charentes, and specifically the departments of Haute-Vienne, Creuse, Corrèze, Cantal, Charente, Dordogne, Lot, Gironde, Loire, Haute-Loire, Lot-et- Garonne, Puy-de-Dôme and Vienne.

Very hot in the south

Météo-France announces for this Sunday a very hot weather on the southern half, easily exceeding 30 degrees, and predicts that this heavy atmosphere will trigger thunderstorms in the afternoon, from Aquitaine to Franche-Comté, including ” the activity can be temporarily strong, accompanied by a risk of hail and violent gusts”.

A second series of storms is expected at the end of the day and will concern Aquitaine, Limousin, Poitou-Charentes, as far as Pays-de-la-Loire and the Centre.
