Weather: the heat starts to sting this Wednesday

VSAye, the dreaded heat wave is coming. Extreme temperatures will rage from this Wednesday, June 15 in the south of France. The sun will be very generous there, like everywhere in the rest of the territory, except for stormy showers in the center-east, according to Météo-France forecasts. The intense heat will make the whole thing much less pleasant. In addition, the hardest part is yet to come at the end of the week, with peaks above 40 degrees in certain sectors.

This Wednesday morning, in Auvergne Rhône-Alpes and in the south of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, the sky will be cloudy and isolated but locally stormy showers will occur. In the afternoon, the weather will become heavier. From the Massif Central to the Jura and as far as the Alps, thunderstorms and showers will strengthen and become more frequent. On the Pyrenees, on the other hand, the showers and thunderstorms will be less strong. Elsewhere, except for a few gray mornings on the Aquitaine and Mediterranean coasts, the day will often be sunny, with rising temperatures on the northern half.

Minimum temperatures will be between 9 and 14 degrees from Hauts-de-France and Haute-Normandie to the Grand Est, between 13 and 18 degrees over the rest of the northern half, between 17 and 22 degrees in the south. In the afternoon, except from the north of Brittany to Nord-Pas-de-Calais where it is 24 to 29 degrees, locally 22 on the edge of the Channel, the maximum will often exceed 30 degrees everywhere else. Temperatures will reach 30 to 33 degrees from the Pays de Loire to the Paris region and the Grand Est, 31 to 36 degrees in general over the rest of the country, locally 37 degrees in the South West.
