Weather tomorrow: big heat stroke in France! Are you concerned?

Has summer landed a little early? This Tuesday, May 10, the sun will shine over all of France and temperatures will greatly exceed seasonal norms. It will be, for example, 22 degrees in Nice, 23 degrees in Lille, 26 degrees in Nancy, 27 degrees in Lyon and Paris and up to 28 degrees in Bordeaux. Locally, the thermometer could even exceed 30 degrees. Exceptional temperatures for the beginning of May since the seasonal norms are around 20 degrees at this time of the year.

Some regions should however be spared by this heat stroke. These are Normandy (15 degrees only expected in Cherbourg on Tuesday), Brittany (16 degrees expected in Brest) and to a lesser extent Corsica (21 degrees expected in Ajaccio) and the Basque Country (20 degrees expected in Biarritz). Wednesday, May 11, the temperatures go decrease a little on the western part of the country and increase in the east. For example, it will be 28 degrees in Lyon and 27 degrees in Strasbourg. It will be “only” 25 degrees in Bordeaux. Normandy, Brittany, the Basque Country and Corsica will always be spared by this heat stroke.

Weather: and after this heat wave?

Temperatures will remain above seasonal norms until Wednesday over a large majority of the country. And after,? What to expect for the end of the week? “Thursday and Friday, the air will be a little cooler, with a small influx of maritime air linked to a westerly wind, which will lower temperatures north of the Loire. This could result in a few thundery showers. This small degradation will be short-lived since we will find high pressure conditions next weekend throughout France.explains Patrick Galois, forecaster at Météo France, to our colleagues at France Info.
