Webex improves multitasking on iPad

Webex Meetings for iPad already supports picture-in-picture mode, which reduces meeting video streams to a small window for better multitasking. But starting today, iPad users will get two additional features.

The Webex Meetings app update will add the ability to split the app into multiple windows, allowing shared documents or a presentation to be displayed on one side of the screen, while viewing participants in the meeting. meeting or group chat on the other side of the screen.

With Cisco WebEx Meetings, participate in meetings and chat conversations with your iPhone, iPad, Android smartphone or tablet, or directly from your computer.

The great advantages of Stage Manager

Stage Manager allows some iPad models to display multiple apps in adjustable windows, like on macOS (in fact, the latest macOS has Stage Manager built in), and it even supports external monitors. iPad users can have up to eight apps open and running at the same time when connected to an external display.

With the new Webex Meetings update, you can move any open Webex Meetings window from one screen to another, resize any open window, and ultimately treat Webex Meetings like you you would with any Apple application compatible with Stage Manager.

Working on an iPad Pro connected to an external monitor, I participated in many video meetings – including some Webex meetings – in this configuration. Not all apps support this use case well, so I’m glad to see that Cisco is bringing full support to the iPad with the latest Webex Meetings update.

You can download today’s update to Webex Meetings in the App Store.
