Clearly: getting married is not all about having fun! Because a lot of things have to be done before the big day. We have put together a checklist for your wedding.

Have you received an application – or asked for the hand of your loved one yourself? Congratulations! The next few months are sure to be exciting and unforgettable. Choosing a wedding dress, organizing a hen party, inviting wedding guests, putting together music … no question about it, wedding planning means a lot of work.

But don’t panic: if you approach the matter in an organized manner, you neither need a wedding planner nor be afraid that you will forget something. We have put together a checklist for you that contains the most important preparations.

❤️ Wedding checklist: 12 months before the wedding

He’s just got down on his knees in front of you – and planning can begin. Let’s start with the checklist! First of all, determine together:

  • What kind of wedding do you want? (Church ceremony, free wedding, a civil wedding?)
  • How big should the frame be? (Do you only invite the closest friends and relatives or can the guest list get a little longer?)
  • When do you want to marry? (You should set the wedding date as early as possible)
  • What is your budget? (Do the parents pay anything?)
  • Where do you want to get married? (Place and wedding location and here are tips for getting married abroad)

? Wedding checklist: 12 to 6 months before the wedding

After you have clarified the basic things, it goes to the nitty-gritty: The following things now have to be “processed”:

  • Get an appointment at the registry office and, if necessary, the parish office (the earlier the better!)
  • Pick and ask groomsmen
  • Select bridesmaids
  • Write and send “Save the Date” invitation cards
  • Book catering
  • Choosing a wedding dress
  • Plan and book your honeymoon
  • Order a photographer
  • Order a DJ

? Wedding checklist: 6 to 3 months before the wedding

The wedding celebration is approaching – and it is time for the following things:

  • Choosing a suit for the groom
  • Arrange a wedding interview with the pastor
  • Select the final menu for the wedding
  • Have wedding rings engraved
  • Make wedding invitations yourself or buy and send them
  • Have place cards printed
  • Put together a gift wish list
  • Organize accommodation for guests
  • Tinker or choose wedding decorations

? Wedding checklist: 3 to 1 month before the wedding

Final spurt – now you’re almost there. But these things still need to be done:

? Wedding checklist: 4 to 2 weeks before the wedding

Oha! Now it’s only a stone’s throw to the big day. Upset? Don’t panic – this will be great! But think of these things:

  • Final consultation with all important people (DJ / band, organizer, hairdresser, etc.)
  • Get a manicure appointment
  • Make a hair appointment for the groom
  • Get an appointment for a facial
  • Buy guest book

Have you thought of all the points on the checklist?

No question: whether the discussion about the wedding date, the preparations for the wedding ceremony and the subsequent wedding celebration or the booking of the honeymoon – wedding planning can be quite exhausting. And it is also quite normal to get caught up in the wool during the preparations. But if you work through our checklist for the wedding piece by piece and in good time, you can look forward to the big day in a relaxed manner. We wish you a great wedding celebration with a lot of love and nice guests. And: of course the happiest marriage you can imagine!
