Phew, Aunt Gerda next to Grandpa or would you rather go to Uncle Klaus? There’s no question planning wedding seating can be a real headache. We have a few tips for you on how to do it right.
You want to invite all your loved ones to the wedding: friends, relatives, colleagues, neighbors… but the big question that arises before the celebration is: how do we place people? Should the family sit together? And the clique at a table? Or should you rather mix and match so that the wedding community gets to know each other better? It is not uncommon for the bridal couple to spend hours and hours putting together the right seating arrangement for the wedding.
Wedding Seating Chart – Preparation is everything
Even if everything seems so far away – start on time (a few months before the wedding)to create the table plan for your celebration. It is much better to seat guests at a table that similar hobbies, interests, or jobs have. This makes it easy to have conversations and nobody feels uncomfortable. Certain guests often already know each other well, for example the clique or the circle of colleagues. Of course, it makes sense to choose a table for them to share.
Should I seat singles at a table?
Phew, hot topic. If you put all the singles around the table, you run the risk of sending the wrong message. The single people could feel like “leftovers” who absolutely have to be paired up. More elegant is a table arrangement in which two to four singles sit at a table and otherwise colorfully mixed.
Where do I put older guests?
Guests with special requirements should also be considered when creating the seating arrangement. It is best to place older guests who are less mobile so that they can not far to the buffet and the toilet have. It is ideal if someone sits at the table to help you walk or get a second helping of food.
What else do I have to think about with the seating plan?
It’s best to ask a seating plan at the entrance to the ballroom on – so that the guests do not wander around without orientation. And: Always plan the bridal table first and then the other tables around it. After all, the bride and groom are the main characters!
