As we sink into the chilly evenings, knowing which program to watch while warm is essential. To help you make the right choice, Digital offers you its selection of films and series to watch in streaming on the Netflix, Disney+, Canal+ and Amazon Prime Video platforms during the week of November 21, 2022.

This week, we recommend the series Wednesdayas well as movies The Hero’s Return, Good Night Oppy, Guardians of the Galaxy: Happy Holidays and Thelma and Louise.

The Hero’s Return (Canal+)

Captain Neuville is a great seducer. He comes to ask for his hand from the young Pauline under the suspicious gaze of Elisabeth, sister of the latter. Alas, Neuville is called to the front and Pauline has no news. While she was gradually wasting away, Elisabeth took up her pen and began a correspondence with Pauline, under the name of Neuville, making him a true war hero. But the captain ends up reappearing, to the chagrin of the young woman…

The Hero’s Return is an amazing and fun period comedy, with the daring sets and costumes to match. Signed by the fine pen of Laurent Tirard (The speech, A man at the height), the film owes much of its interest to the duo composed of Jean Dujardin and Mélanie Laurent, who exchange slaps and scathing replies at each scene. An original comedy mixing romance and epic, and which will effectively lighten your evening. From November 22 on Canal+ and the myCanal platform.

Wednesday (Netflix)

The series follows the adventures of Wednesday Addams, now a student at Nevermore Academy. As she learns to tame her newfound psychic powers, the young girl must foil a series of murders that terrorize the city and solve the mystery that her parents were embroiled in 25 years ago, all while trying painfully to forge new relationships within Nevermore.

Wednesday brilliantly juggles between criminal investigation, secret society and heart problems, not to mention an ambitious plot mixing family secrets and historical trauma. An excellent surprise with complex and endearing characters, a thrilling story full of twists and turns, and a nervous rhythm that never gets boring. A generous and deliciously macabre series that is aimed as much at the rebellious teenager as at his disoriented parents, including the follower of well-crafted puzzles. Starting November 23 on Netflix.

Good Night Oppy (Prime Video)

The story of Opportunity, a rover active from 2004 to 2018 on Mars, and the bond that was forged between the robot and the humans who created it. Oppy became an international sensation during his 15-year mission, which culminated in one final communication to Earth: “My battery is low and it is dark.”

This documentary on one of the most famous achievements of the space conquest is a real little nugget. The archives unveiled are mind-blowing and finally give a face to the women and men behind this crazy enterprise. The Oppy rover feels like a new Wall-E, and its Martian adventures are as inspiring as they are touching. We’re betting you won’t finish the movie without tearing up. From November 23 on Amazon Prime Video.

Thelma and Louise (Canal+)

In front of the camera of Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Alien), the duo Susan Sarandon/Geena Davis shines on the screen and still embodies, more than 30 years later, a jubilant freedom. A road trip feminist and emancipator, with magnificent images and endowed with magnificent supporting roles (Harvey Keitel, Brad Pitt), to see and see again without moderation.
