With Wednesday, Tim Burton finally realizes his wish, that of being interested in the Addams family with a series centered solely on the rebellious and macabre teenager. The plot follows his entry into Nevermore Academy, a special school for young misfits with supernatural powers. The story takes another turn when a succession of murders will force the heroine to investigate.
The ending of the eighth and final episode opens up various possibilities for a sequel. The true nature of Tyler, Wednesday’s almost-boyfriend, is exposed. As he is held prisoner in a truck leaving the city of Jericho, he is about to transform into a monster, freeing himself from his chains. As for Wednesday, she receives a strange message on her first mobile phone offered by Xavier: “I watching you“.
Although the success is there, a second season has not yet been recorded on the Netflix side. Nevertheless, co-creator Miles Millar explains, for TV Linethat the universe could be further explored in the future: “I feel like we’ve only scratched the surface of these characters and the actors are fantastic in their roles..”
