A new crowdfunding project aims to bring the world’s smallest and lightest camera to market. This is what you need to know about the MiniCa.
- A crowdfunding project in China is currently raising money for the world’s smallest camera.
- It weighs only 17 grams and offers a 0.96 inch display.
- The development team has already raised enough money to finance production.
The company Gather Tech has started a crowdfunding project for the “MiniCa” in China via Green Funding. This is a portable camera that should be particularly small and light. The manufacturers even promise that it will be the world’s lightest and smallest portable camera.
Gizmochina reports that the MiniCa has a 0.96-inch display and can record videos in Full HD resolution. The photo resolution is 3,760 x 2,128 pixels. The camera weighs just 17 grams and has a 180 mAh battery, which should be sufficient for a runtime of 60 minutes.
Recordings are stored on a microSD card so they can be easily transferred to the computer. The financing period is currently around 25 days, but the development team has already collected more money than was necessary.
This seems to secure the market launch, but it remains to be seen whether the small camera will also make it to Germany. In the following video you can get an impression of the MiniCa.
