Weird Al Yankovic never made it into the German charts and even in the USA he was granted a number 1 album for the first time in 2014. Now, Weird Al is returning to the world of film, but not to the big screen. The idea of ​​shooting a Weird Al biopic that at the same time parodies the biopic genre did not convince any major film studio, and there were too many doubts about commercial success. Only the Roku Channel showed interest and so “Weird – The Al Yankovic Story” can only be seen there.

The fact that the content of the streaming service can even be seen for free is of little use to German “Weird Al” fans at first, because the Roku Channel is not available in this country, but only in the USA, Canada, Mexico and Great Britain. A release in Germany with another streaming service does not seem to be planned yet.
