Stars, a popular moderation duo and background music created a New Year’s Eve atmosphere at the Brandenburg Gate on Friday evening.

Even without fireworks and big celebrations, the New Year’s Eve at the Brandenburg Gate took off on Friday evening (December 31). The popular moderation duo Andrea “Kiwi” Kiewel (56) and Johannes B. Kerner (57) once again led the New Year’s Eve party “Celebrate at the Gate”, which was broadcast live on ZDF under the title “Willkommen 2022”. In addition, top-class artists were featured, who ensured a party mood at the event despite corona-related restrictions.

For example, the electro-pop duo Glasperlenspiel stood on the iconic stage in Berlin, which shone in brilliant colors. The appearance on “Celebrate at the Gate” was “something very special” for both of them. “We feel honored to be part of the show again with our music,” enthused singer Carolin Niemczyk (31). The musicians from Team 5ifth also performed on New Year’s Eve. “The turn of the year is one of the most beautiful moments for us. Standing on the big stage at the Brandenburg Gate on New Year’s Eve and sharing this experience with everyone makes us particularly proud,” said boy band members Jay Kahn (39) and Marc Terenzi (43).

In addition to the Tokio Hotel twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz (both 32) and comedian Oliver Pocher (43), the new Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (58, SPD) had a virtual say.
