Bouygues Telecom is making a notable step backwards by reactivating the 12-month discount on its fixed internet offers. The operator could, thanks to this, recruit many subscribers.

This is very good news, and it comes to us from Bouygues Telecom. After dropping the famous promotional period from 12 to 6 months last year, the operator has just returned it to its starting level. In other words, the Bbox Fit, Must and Ultym offers once again benefit from a promotional year, therefore at a reduced price. Bouygues Telecom is one of only two operators, with Free, to offer it in this way. Let’s see where we are, and if Bouygues Telecom becomes interesting again.

Bouygues Telecom leaves Orange and SFR on the sidelines of promotional offers

We could almost say that we are looking for ourselves a little bit, among the operators. To increase the average revenue generated per subscriber and thus improve their financial results, telecoms players have, in turn, in recent months, reduced the reduced rate period, known as the “discounted or promotional period”, from 12 to 6 months.

Except for Free, who didn’t move, everyone got involved. Today, the observation is as follows: at Orange, we are maintaining 6 months of promotion for the three main subscriptions (Livebox Fiber, Up Fiber and Max Fiber). On the SFR side, we have completely, and very deliberately, eliminated all promotional periods very recently, with a logical price increase.

Bouygues Telecom was somewhat at the center of events, with 6 months of promotion. But now the telecom operator, a subsidiary of construction giant Bouygues, has just made a step back that future subscribers will appreciate. The price discounted over one year is making a comeback, but in exchange, certain prices have changed. Clubic has, as usual, taken out his calculator.

Rather interesting savings on Bouygues Telecom fiber offers: Clubic has done the calculations

Let’s start with the Bbox Fit, the so-called “entry-level” internet box from Bouygues Telecom, which offers up to 400 Mbit/s download (download) and upload (send) speeds, with Wi-Fi 5.

• Until last week, Bbox Fit was offered at 18.99 euros/month for 6 months, then 32.99 euros/month, with a one-year commitment. Or 311.88 euros for 1 year of subscription, and 707.76 euros for 2 years.

• Since the beginning of May, it has been offered at 19.99 euros/month for 1 year, then 32.99 euros/month beyond, with the same commitment. Or 239.88 euros for 1 year of subscription, and 635.76 euros for 2 years.

With the new Bbox Fit price, the subscriber therefore saves 72 euros in the first year, and 72 euros in the second, or 144 euros in two years;

Let’s continue with the Bbox Must offer, and its 1 Gbit/s down and 700 Mbit/s up and its Wi-Fi 6.

• Until last week, Bbox Must was offered at 26.99 euros/month for 6 months, then 42.99 euros/month, with a one-year commitment. Or 419.88 euros for 1 year of subscription, and 1,031.76 euros for 2 years.

• Since the beginning of May, it has been offered at 34.99 euros/month for 1 year, then 39.99 euros/month beyond, with the same commitment. Or 419.88 euros for 1 year of subscription, and 899.76 euros for 2 years.

With the new Bbox Must rate, the subscriber does not save money over one year, but he saves 132 euros over the second year, or 66 euros/year if you swear loyalty to the operator for 24 months.

We finally finish with the Bbox Ultym offer, its 2 Gbit/s download, 900 Mbit/s upload and Wi-Fi 6E.

• Until last week, Bbox Must was offered at 32.99 euros/month for 6 months, then 52.99 euros/month, with a one-year commitment. Or 515.88 euros for 1 year of subscription, and 1,151.76 euros for 2 years.

• Since the beginning of May, it has been offered at 42.99 euros/month for 1 year, then 47.99 euros/month beyond, with the same commitment. Or 515.88 euros for 1 year of subscription, and 1,091.76 euros for 2 years.

With the new Bbox Ultym price, the subscriber does not save money over one year, as for the Must version, but he saves 60 euros over the second year, or 30 euros/year.

See the Bbox Ultym offer at €42.99 per month

What we can therefore note, to conclude, is that in addition to the Bbox Fit, interesting for both one and two years of subscription, Bouygues has been very clever in its price management, by building customer loyalty. subscriber for a minimum of two years if he wants to make certain savings. A win-win strategy.
