“We’re almost riding on the rim”

“Budgeting” of the Organizing Committee for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games constitutes one of the “monitoring points” two months before the event, declared the president of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), David Lappartient, in an interview with West Francepublished Tuesday May 21. “We’re almost riding on the rim. The reserve part – there is always a little for contingencies – is made to the minimum of the minimum”he noted.

Regarding the budget, Mr. Lappartient recognized that completing that of Club France (22 to 23 million euros), the future place for celebrating French sport, which will be installed in the Grande Halle de La Villette, in Paris, “is a really difficult subject”. “It must not be a financial hangover tomorrow,” he warned. The State has just informed the CNOSF that it will not go beyond the 1.7 million euros in support planned, while Mr. Lappartient had mentioned the possibility of an extension of 500,000 euros.
