If you were expecting these new models, accompanied by an M2 chip, for the end of this year, you will unfortunately have to show a little more patience.

Announced last June, during WWDC 2022, the M2 processor is starting to equip more and more Apple products.

The M2 makes its mark through Apple products

The MacBook Air M2 and MacBook Pro M2 were announced in the wake of the presentation of this new processor and have been available since this summer. More recently, the iPad Pro hosted the new Apple SoC to bring more performance to users of the premium touch pad.

What about 14 and 16 inch MacBook Pros? Released at the end of 2021, we could expect a quick presentation by the end of the year, just in time to find a place under the Christmas trees of all the brand’s fans.

Unfortunately, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has bad news regarding these two highly anticipated models.

See you in 2023 for 14- and 16-inch MacBook updates

The journalist published his weekly newsletter this Sunday, October 30 and indicated that the release of these two MacBooks would not take place before next year, and more precisely during the first half of March. This period is now often used by Apple to present a new salvo of products to be released during the spring. Apple is also aiming for a release in parallel with that of the iOS 16.3 and macOS Ventura 13.3 updates.

To support his words, Mark Gurman also quotes Tim Cook. Apple’s CEO said, during the conference that followed the presentation of the good financial results for the third quarter of 2022, that the 2022 product line was ” finalized » for the end of year celebrations. Apple would thus have no intention of speaking again before next year.

Last clue that attests to this prediction: Luca Maestri, vice-president in charge of finance at Apple, indicated in this same conference to expect a severe slowdown in Mac sales for the Christmas period. The release of the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros in 2021 had given this activity a small boost, and this will therefore not be the case this year.
