“Wertmeister 2022” – These are the most stable vehicles of the year

Whether a car is expensive or cheap cannot be seen solely from the purchase price. This is particularly true in the current market situation, in which you sometimes have to reckon with immense new car delivery times, while the used market is empty and the prices are unbelievably high. That brings us to the point: In order to estimate how expensive a new car is, you have to take the expected residual value into account.

This residual value is determined annually by the German market observer Schwacke, which compiles the well-known “Schwacke list” of used car prices. In addition, the experts, together with AutoBild, determine the cars with the best residual value or the lowest depreciation and choose the “value champions”. The basis are German prices, which include a lower VAT and, above all, no NoVA. You have to be aware of that if you want to find your way around Austria. A van is the king of residual values The V-Class from Mercedes-Benz has the highest percentage of residual value at 68.3 percent. In the version used as a basis, the van costs 101,330 euros and loses 32,081 euros of its new value in four years with an annual mileage of 20,000 kilometers. When it comes to real money loss, the Dacia Sandero is again in the lead. In the TCe 90 engine, it loses 5200 euros from its new price of 15,500 euros. With 66.5 percent after four years, it is also the residual value giant in the small car class.
