Western Digital launches three 22TB hard drives you probably won’t use

For less demanding users, but who want as much storage, Western Digital presents its WD Red Pro CMR in a 22 TB version. Suitable for NAS up to 24 bays, it is especially dedicated to businesses and can operate 24/7.

A Western Digital hard drive designed for video

Finally, Western Digital presented a last hard drive of 22 TB, for a different use yet. This is his WD Purple Pro CMR, designed for video surveillance. It also features OptiNAND technology, “in a disk specially designed for video analytics servers and AI and deep learning systems“.

The brand says its AllFrame AI technology can support up to 32 AI streams for AI video analysis. A WD Purple Pro line that can handle up to 64 HD cameras, while delivering 2.5 million hours of MTBF reliability.
