Wet road – car skidded: three injured

On Tuesday evening, a 28-year-old car driver on the L 329, the Rinneggerstraße in Oberschöckl (Graz area), skidded in a right-hand bend on the rain-soaked road and crashed with the long side against the front of the off-road vehicle of an oncoming 41-year-old driver . Both drivers and the 40-year-old passenger in the SUV were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

At around 5:30 p.m., the 41-year-old driver of an off-road vehicle from the Graz-Umwelt district drove on the L 329, Rinneggerstraße, coming from Graz in the direction of Weinitzen. A 40-year-old man, also from the Graz-Umwelt district, was in the passenger seat. A 28-year-old woman from Graz was driving on the road in the opposite direction when she skidded in a right-hand bend on the rain-soaked roadway. Due to the countersteering, the car turned sideways and hit the long side against the front of the oncoming off-road vehicle. Both the drivers involved and the passenger were taken to the hospital with injuries of an unspecified degree. An alcohol mat test was negative for both drivers. The vehicles were recovered by the Weinitzen-Oberschöckl volunteer fire brigade, which was deployed with twelve people and two vehicles. Considerable property damage was caused. Due to the traffic accident, the L 329 was completely closed in this section until 6:30 p.m.
