In just over a month, the end of year holidays are upon us! A period which also marks the payment of the Christmas bonus, but when will it be paid this year? We tell you everything!
It was in 1998 that the State implemented this exceptional aid called the Christmas Bonus of 1,000 francs for all the most modest households in France. A boost that is good for wallets, especially with the costs generated by the end-of-year holidays: meals, gifts, vacations… If for almost 25 years the amount of the basic premium has not changed, it is today equivalent to 152.45 euros. An amount which changes depending on marital status, but also on the number of children in the household.
In fact, a couple without children will receive the basic premium of 152.45 euros. A couple with one child or a single person with two children will receive the same amount, i.e. 274.41 euros. A scale which evolves with a fixed amount up to five children (503.09 euros for a couple and 457.35 euros for a single parent) and which takes 60.98 euros for each additional child beyond five. A design that meets the needs of families in order to support them during this very important period of joy and good humor. But when will the bonus be paid?

When will French households be able to benefit from it?
If at present no official information from the government has confirmed the date of payment of the bonus or its renewal, we can assess that it will be paid around December 15, 2023 as every year. For certain new beneficiaries, this will not be paid until January. The Christmas bonus affects nearly 2.3 million French households and is paid automatically by social aid organizations: CAF, MSA and Pôle Emploi.
In order to benefit from this bonus, you must be a recipient of one of the following social benefits between the months of November and December 2023: RSA, AER, ASS, ACCRE, PTS, premium lump sum for resumption of activity and finally training remuneration from Pôle emploi after an ASS payment.
