what can I get reimbursed?

Teleworking is mandatory as soon as possible. however, it may incur additional costs when this is a new practice. What is possible to get reimbursed or not?

With the return of confinement in France for at least one month, it is also the return for many people to telework. Whether you hate it (team feeling like sleeping at the office) or love it (team pilou socks), it at least relieves congestion on the streets and transport, in order to protect our health and our caregivers.
However, it may be necessary to invest in hardware. It also involves heating, electricity, maybe additional internet costs … Is it possible to get them reimbursed by your employer, since they are essential for my work?

Today, telework is very democratized. Since 2017, it is framed by official texts and the Labor Code. It is part of a company agreement or charter, which is good to know in your business. What the employer can or must reimburse you is also subject to more or less flexible rules.

Can I be reimbursed for the purchase of office equipment?

I want to buy an office chair to be more comfortable, is it possible to get a refund? Ditto for reams of paper, additional screen, etc.
If the employer has signed a charter in this regard, yes, up to a certain amount that he will inform you.
If your company has not signed this charter, it is not required to reimburse you for your equipment purchases. Be careful, however: case law has established that certain essential costs must be taken into account. So it goes against the general rule, which means that you can try to get them reimbursed, but that is not sure the law will prove you are right.
On the other hand, on the computer, you can use your personal computer if you wish, but this is not an obligation: when the employer requires you to telework, he must provide you with a computer. Note that this is all the more relevant for IT security reasons!

Can I be reimbursed for my ongoing costs?

The rule of the Ministry of Labor is as follows: no compensation, unless the company has signed a prior agreement. This agreement concerns almost the entire commercial sector. Check with your human resources manager.
On the other hand, you are still entitled to restaurant tickets, which can be used for take-out or in supermarkets. If you do not have a restaurant ticket, the rule is to rely on the general principle of covering business expenses. But as long as you don't risk having a business lunch for a while …

Finally, be careful to declare to your employer the place where you telecommute, for insurance reasons.
Good luck to all of you!
