Salt is of all culinary preparations. We even put a pinch in the sweet mixes. We tend to think, a little wrongly, that it is essential and to use too much. Only, as with everything, overconsumption harms health. Sometimes you have to know how to distance yourself from it. To replace its use in your daily kitchen, there are several other condiments and spices that will give flavor to your meals!

Spice dishes without salting them

Instead of salt, you can opt for spices that will give body and flavor to your dishes. Pepper, curry, garlic, paprika or even chilli will add to the recipe. Mixtures of aromatic herbs work the same way. Prefer therefore chives, parsley, coriander or dill. Asian cuisine uses miso, a paste that acts as salt in most preparations.

Oil or lemon to flavor

Cook your saltless meats and fish by cooking them with fragrant oil such as olive oil. You can mix it with or replace it with lemon juice. The tangy taste goes perfectly with fish, but chicken is also eaten very well with lemon. Yuzu, its Japanese cousin, is more and more popular in Western cuisines and is a seasoning ace. Apple cider vinegar can replace citrus fruits and give such a strong result on the palate.

Make a broth or marinade before cooking

Mixtures of spices, herbs and liquids give a result that is sophisticated enough to dispense with a pinch of salt. You can grill your steak or salmon steak before incorporating it into a broth or marinade of your confection. It can be made with condiments such as mustard or mayonnaise, with cubes, thyme, bay leaf, and all the tastes and flavors available in your kitchen.
