Invited on France Inter this Tuesday, December 28, Jean-Michel Blanquer, the Minister of National Education, Youth and Sports explained the new procedure to follow when a student is positive for Covid-19: “Now when there is a positive case of coronavirus in a primary school, the children only come back to school with a negative test. Today we have a test done and probably we will go to two or three tests, several days apart “.
Between the two tests that the child concerned will have to pass, the latter will go to class and his class will not be closed. If the minister could not indicate the exact time to have between the two tests, he specified that his ministry is “Working on it, once again in dialogue with the scientific authorities”.
More CO2 sensors in the classroom
Another announcement mentioned this morning: the amplification of CO2 sensors in schools. This device has already been installed in order to reduce the risk of transmission of the virus and its variants. Jean-Michel Blanquer informed that a circular was going to be sent to all the prefects and rectors of France asking them to install more sensors. “I have no doubt that we will go towards equipping everyone”. The minister recalled that regular ventilation of classrooms was very important, recommending that it be done during “10 minutes”.
