What does RICOCHET really bring to Warzone Pacific?

It is since December 2021 that the Call of Duty anti-cheat system, namely RICOCHET, was first deployed with the Asia-Pacific region, and then extended further to our country.

At the start of the year, after a few weeks of commissioning, we can therefore legitimately ask ourselves whether Is RICOCHET really effective? How does the anti-cheat software work against Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific and Call of Duty Vanguard cheaters?

More than a month after the deployment of RICOCHET, what to think?

The assessment that we could make of RICOCHET remains quite positive, despite a few hiccups. Since December 9, the anti-cheat system has wreaked havoc, banishing tens of thousands of cheaters in the Battle Royale Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific, but also in Call of Duty Vanguard. But then, how does RICOCHET really work?

Although the latter ruthlessly removes accounts it determines as belonging to cheaters, it does not only do that. Indeed, the latter blocks certain actions of the cheaters, and this, while they are in full play.

We had a great example a short time ago, with the rage of a player who sees the functionality of his controller be completely disabled. Also, according to a discussion on a Discord from a cheat provider, hackers also did not hesitate to declare that RICOCHET significantly reduced the impact of damage which they inflicted on their enemies.

This means that some cheaters are still free, but they are nevertheless punished since they need a lot more ammunition to defeat their opponents.

However, the anti-cheat system seems to go much further. The gamer and streamer JoeWo indeed found himself facing a cheater during a fight in Warzone Pacific, and although the latter was shooting at him, JoeWo then took no damage.

According to several speculations, streamers of the Battle Royale, and in particular UnRational on Twitter, claimed that the game therefore punishes players with a K/D ratio that is way too high. This is a good thing, but can quickly become annoying for legitimate players who don’t cheat. Moreover, RICOCHET obviously did not reveal how it worked, and therefore keeps secret how it operates and above all, with what data.
