What is my constituency in the legislative elections: the search engine for “Libé” answers you

Legislative elections 2022case

Constituencies straddling several municipalities or districts: to find your way around, “Libé” has concocted a precise and fluid search engine for you. What also revise the results of five years ago and those of the last presidential election.

Many inhabitants of the 34,965 French municipalities, called to vote on June 12 and 19 in the first and second rounds of the legislative elections, are no doubt wondering what their constituency is. It is not always easy to spontaneously give the number of one’s constituency, nor to know what territory it covers, because their borders do not always coincide with those of the municipalities. In Paris alone, there are 18. Some encompass several arrondissements, like the first, which covers part of the 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th arrondissements. Conversely, the same arrondissement can house up to three different constituencies: this is the case in the 18th and 20th centuries. Result: two neighbors living in the same street can depend on two different constituencies.

To see more clearly, with the help of the national address database and the map of the constituencies published on the datagouv.fr site, Freed developed a search engine to find his constituency from his mailing address. But also to find information on his outgoing deputy and the scores of the various parties in the last presidential and legislative elections.
