The right actions to take care of your hair

There are many types of hair, but whatever your hair type, all hair deserves to be cared for and even as cared for as our skin on a daily basis. A little reminder of the basic rules to follow to display hair in top condition and in full health.

The shampoo step is an essential step in the hair routine.
How to wash your hair properly? The ideal is to wash your hair every two days on average to avoid attacking the scalp with washing products which could become strippers if they are used too often, but also the inconvenience which is associated with too much shampooing. close together (increased sebum production when you have oily hair, hair dryness that sets in when the hair is already dry, formation of dandruff, etc.). A good hair routine is also a routine where you are careful not to wash your head too often when it is not necessary.
Methodology and gesture side, after having wet your hair, just pour a small amount of shampoo (adapted to your hair type of course!) In your hand and apply it on the scalp to lather the product at the level roots with your fingertips, remembering to gently rub the areas behind the ears and at the top of the neck.

After rinsing your shampoo, do not skip the conditioner step (again choose it according to your hair type, it will be different depending on whether you have frizzy hair, curly hair, wavy hair or hair straight) to detangle and nourish hair. Rinse thoroughly because this hair treatment tends to weigh down the hair which then loses its volume. You can finish this step with a rinse water made from apple cider vinegar and lemon. Leave on your wet hair for a few minutes before rinsing it off one last time with cold water. An ideal grandmother's remedy to make her hair shine.

In case of dry hair, you can also wash your hair less, much less. This is valid if you have long hair and thin hair as well.

An often overlooked step in the beauty ritual of hair, drying is also very important. First of all, when drying your hair, it is best not to rub it with the towel to avoid damaging and tangling it. Keep in mind that wet hair is very fragile (more fragile than when it is dried) and that brisk movements can have a disastrous effect on its condition. This is also why it is better to roughly untangle your hair with your fingers (or with a detangling comb whose teeth are wide and spaced) just after shampooing rather than brushing your lengths immediately, because brushing would then be too aggressive to untie the knots. Watch out for scrapping! Moreover, if your hair easily "knots" despite the conditioner, be aware that you can use leave-in detangling products such as detangling spray to facilitate this step and make it less painful.

If you are using a hair dryer rather than letting your hair air dry, do not ignore the thermo-protective treatment (this smart product that will protect the hair from heat) and prefer to use the appliance set to medium or maximum heat to easily dry your hair while limiting the damage caused to the hair fiber, otherwise, beware of dry and damaged hair. Also remember to use the cold air mode of your hair dryer if it is equipped, this is a perfect mode for reducing the drying time under high temperature and for fixing the hairstyle.

To properly nourish the hair in depth and display healthy hair, it is also important to provide it with some more intense care, in addition to the essential care duo consisting of shampoo and conditioner. The one not to be overlooked? The hair mask, to choose more or less nourishing according to the type of hair so that the treatment is adapted to your specific problem. If your hair is dry or damaged, opt for an ultra nourishing mask to provide that touch of hydration and nutrition that they are sorely lacking. If you have oily hair or at least oily at the roots with mixed hair, prefer a purifying mask to take care of your scalp.

How to use your hair mask properly? It is usually applied once a week after shampooing, as a replacement or supplement to conditioner according to personal needs. But it is possible to adapt the frequency of applications to the type of hair or the state of the fiber by doing up to two to three masks per week on very dry hair, or by systematically swapping its conditioner for a mask during the period when the hair is particularly damaged.
Our beauty advice to boost the effect of this product that works miracles: wrap your hair in a hot towel after applying the mask to promote penetration of the treatment into the hair fiber during the exposure time.

The oil bath is also an interesting treatment, especially if you have dry hair (frizzy, afro or frizzy hair type). The idea is to coat the lengths with a small quantity of pure vegetable oil (coconut oil, black seed oil, olive oil, argan oil, castor oil …) – avoiding the scalp at risk greasing it – and leaving this oil bath for several hours or even overnight so that your hair is intensely nourished when you wake up, that it retains hydration better and that it regains all its softness. Be careful, however, to wash your hair thoroughly afterwards with a mild shampoo to remove any oil residue that has not been absorbed by the fiber. Promised, these hair care products get rid of the driest hair!

Finally, if your hair requires special attention because you have dry ends, you tend to have frizz or you have curly hair and your curls are too relaxed and not defined enough for example, you can also use nourishing leave-in care or daily sublimating oils to heal, discipline and redefine your curls. Of course, their use will then also depend on your hairstyle: on long hair, the dose and the application procedure will be different from those to work on short hair.
