What is the electric Renault Twingo worth at €100 per month?

Emmanuel Macron has promised social leasing to drive a new electric car for €100 per month, but manufacturers have not waited for additional state subsidies to develop similar proposals. Thus, several brands have already launched long-term rental offers at this rate.

The latest is Renault, which offers its electric Twingo E-Tech at €100 per month for a total period of 37 months and 30,000 km maximum. However, it will be necessary to pay a first rent increased to 9000 €, fortunately reduced to 4000 € once the ecological bonus of 5000 € accessible to all has been taken into account. Other aid can be combined to lower this first rent, such as the conversion bonus, depending on the conditions of each.

An entry-level finish with limited equipment

Unsurprisingly, this offer concerns the entry-level version of the electric Twingo. This is the basic authentic finish, invoiced at €25,250 (€20,250 bonus deducted) on purchase. Certainly equipped as standard with electric front windows, radio and safety equipment such as automatic lighting of the lights, it however ignores the air conditioning or the touch screen of the superior finishes.

In terms of autonomy, the electric Twingo announces a range of only 190 km in the WLTP mixed cycle or 270 km in the urban cycle. It is little, and it is its main fault; we noted it during our test. However, we appreciate that the 22 kW on-board charger is supplied as standard.

If it is not uninteresting, this floor offer is therefore quite limited and will not suit everyone. Fortunately, the competition is starting to grow and alternatives exist. Thus, the Dacia Spring with greater autonomy than the Twingo, the more opulent and better equipped Fiat 500, and the much more versatile MG4, are displayed at 99 € per month, with conditions similar to the Twingo.
