Discounter Lidl launched a bestseller in 2018 with its smart food processor Monsieur Cuisine Connect. The inexpensive alternative to the Thermomix was sold out within hours and was difficult to obtain in the first few months.

What we are currently seeing with the PS5 was already there back then: the food processor was sold on eBay at a very high price. Things have finally improved over the years, but perhaps the same game awaits us soon. On August 29, the discounter will be launching a new version of the smart food processor, the Monsieur Cuisine smart.

As the name suggests, the new model has smart features. In the future, you can control the food processor via WiFi and even by voice command. The touch display has grown from 7 to 8 inches, the blender jug ​​now has an additional handle, enabling one-handed operation. You will also receive a number of accessories, including a stirrer and knife attachment, steamer attachment, spatula and much more.

All this is available for 449 euros. This makes Monsieur Cuisine smart 50 euros more expensive than the Connect model. A real bargain compared to the Thermomix TM6, which is priced at 1,399 euros.

Is it worth upgrading from Monsieur Cuisine Connect?

If you own the previous model, an upgrade to the new Monsieur Cuisine smart is not absolutely necessary. There are of course some new functions, but the Connect food processor is basically very well equipped, has Guided Cooking and numerous recipes.

However, if you still own the Monsieur Cuisine Plus and are toying with the idea of ​​switching, the new model is a worthwhile upgrade as the equipment is significantly better. If you don’t have a Lidl machine yet, you can’t go wrong with the new model either.

However, it could be that the predecessor will continue to be offered and the price will fall. That was the case with the Plus and Connect models. So if you are looking for a cheap and good smart food processor at the same time, you should keep an eye on Monsieur Cuisine Connect.
