Seven applicants were selected: Anna Agueb-Porterie, Anne Hidalgo, Yannick Jadot, Pierre Larrouturou, Charlotte Marchandise, Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Christiane Taubira.
If Christiane Taubira, who has just formalized her presidential candidacy, has already indicated that she would comply with the results of this vote, the other competitors on the left do not seem inclined to do the same.

What is it about ? The People’s Primary is a citizens’ initiative that pleads for a common candidacy on the left for the presidential election, resulting from a collective aiming to connect the aspirations of civil society and left-wing parties, on the basis of a common programmatic base. .
At the end of a first sponsorship phase completed on October 11, ten personalities who had received enough citizen sponsorship had been shortlisted, including Anne Hidalgo, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Yannick Jadot, François Ruffin, Clémentine Autain, Pierre Larrouturou and Christiane Taubira . On arrival, therefore, 7 applications were selected.
Registration until January 23, voting from January 27 to 30
The personalities who will be put to the vote at the end of January had to be officially declared presidential candidates on January 15.
Voters have until Sunday, January 23 to vote. All you have to do is register online and provide a mobile phone number and an email address. The platform claims the support of nearly 300,000 people. For now, 120,000 people have registered for this online vote.
