Nagelsmann rages after secret betrayal at Bayern

Tactical instructions reach the public from the FC Bayern dressing room. This is absurd for Julian Nagelsmann, the coach of the Bundesliga leaders is clearly upset. Now the search for the whistleblower begins – and the question of why.
The dressing room is sometimes a sacred place for footballers. Even for the footballers, whose life otherwise takes place in the glaring bright light of the public. Hardly anyone gets access to this place, the conversations and discussions held there remain confidential. If something escapes from the dressing room, it causes great dissatisfaction – in the most recent case at FC Bayern and its coach Julian Nagelsmann.
“I’m annoyed,” said Nagelsmann, visibly touched, because “the person who passes something on harms every single player, that’s not in the spirit of the game.” The 35-year-old seemed visibly annoyed that the “Bild” newspaper had come up with tactical internals and even photos from the Munich cabin. Passing and running paths can be seen on it, as well as instructions for building up the game, for example for the players on the two flanks, known as “rail players”.
In view of this publication, Nagelsmann spoke of a “mole” that is now to be found. But “moles are under species protection, so the search is very, very complicated,” said Nagelsmann at first humorously before he got serious. “It is important to me that I can look in the mirror. This person will not be able to look so well in the mirror because it is not proper,” he emphasized.
He thinks “a lot about it because I ask myself: What is the purpose of the person who is passing it on, what is he hoping for? The motive is not clear to me.” It couldn’t be for financial reasons, said Nagelsmann. He’s not worried “that we can be decrypted,” “but that makes it easier for the enemy.” The next one in the Bundesliga is this Sunday (5.30 p.m./DAZN and in the live ticker at ntv.de) the duel of the last two German clubs still represented in the European Cup against Bayer Leverkusen.
