“What nobody knows…”: Inès Reg looks back on her falling out with Valérie Trierweiler

Big winners of Beijing Express, Inès and Anaïs spoke to our colleagues from Télé Star about their adventure, and in particular about the relationship they had with Valérie Trierweiler.

It’s over ! This Wednesday, August 10, Inès Reg and Anaïs won season 16 of Beijing Express, a shock duo edition that took place in Sri Lanka. After several weeks of adventure, the two sisters managed to beat all the other pairs present to arrive first in front of Stéphane Rotenberg during the very last race. It was against Rachel Legrain-Trapani and her companion Valentin that they measured themselves in the final, but they also, over the stages, beat Valérie Trierweiler and Karine, Xavier Domergue and Yoann Riou, Just Riadh and Abdallah, and Theo Curin and Anne. Formidable opponents which the two young women have overcome.

During this new Beijing Express season, the competition has therefore been in full swing, to the point that some pairs were particularly combative, as is particularly the case with Valérie Trierweiler and her friend Karine. The journalist quickly showed that she was there to do battle, even if it meant destabilizing her opponents with a few well-chosen spades. As she explained in an exclusive interview with Télé Star after winning the final, Inès Reg was also not marble in the face of these remarks. “At the beginning, it was a bit complicated because the spikes were very strong and it affected us a lot” explains the comedian, speaking of his sister Anaïs and herself.

Inès Reg: “Valérie Trierweiler is an unnamed punchline”

It must be said that Valérie Trierweiler did not go there with the back of the spoon and, as Inès Reg had already revealed, attacked from the start by pointing to the small size of Inès’ suitcase to tell her that it was good like that and that at least she knew she was not going not stay long in the adventure. Fortunately, the sisters ended up relativizing a bit and finally these little attacks motivated them more than anything else. “Gradually, we harden up and it becomes a boost for us. When Valérie Trierweiler says it’s war, in the end it’s a very funny war”. Especially since the former first lady has a well-honed sense of humor. “She’s a no-name punchline who is very funny, so it was a bit like the one with the best punchline, we laughed a lot”.
