After Prince Charles, it will be the turn of William and his companion Kate Middleton to take the reins of the British monarchy. If not for now, the Duchess of Cambridge was inspired by the best to prepare for her role as queen.

After more than eleven years of marriage to Prince William, Kate Middleton is now an integral part of the British royal family. After meeting her husband on the benches of the University of Saint Andrews, she imagined what fate awaited her. Moreover, before Prince William proposed to her – a long wait which earned her a not very flattering nickname from the press – Catherine Middleton had to take organized tests by members of the royal family. Elizabeth II notably ensured in person that Kate was really ready for her future duties and the resulting pressure.

According to Pierrick Geais, author of Prince William, the Real Life of a Future King, the Duke of Cambridge very quickly realized that Kate was the perfect queen consort: “She was not born in this environment, even if she went to good schools, but she understood all the codes. Finally, she is the perfect heiress of Elizabeth II. And I think Prince William really likes that.” The royal expert confirms it: “She is a perfect mix between Elizabeth II and Diana.”

Kate Middleton: the elegance and charm of Lady Diana, the rigor of Elizabeth II

Kate Middleton has several assets that allow the royal experts and the British to make the Duchess of Cambridge so popular : “She knows how to talk to people, she squats down to talk to kids, she smiles all the time. She has the perfectly British phlegm of Elizabeth II and, at the same time, she has this humanity and this kindness that characterized Diana. Elizabeth II has just celebrated her 96th birthday, and even if she is less fit than before, she ensures that the British institution does not budge.

The Queen of England also knows that Kate Middleton and Prince William will allow the monarchy to perpetuate itself according to the rules it has established during his more than 70 years of reign: “The only goal of Elizabeth II is that the institution does not move after her death and it will be thanks to Kate and William if it remains so solid. Moreover, for the most symbolic official trips, she sends Kate and William, not Charles and Camilla. They are young, they are beautiful, they embody modernity, it really is the best showcase for the monarchical institution.”
