Emmanuel Macron explained, however, that large gatherings should be avoided as much as possible. "We must continue to avoid gatherings as much as possible, because we know that they are the main occasions for the spread of the virus. They will therefore be kept very tight.", did he declare. In addition, he ensures that "visits must now be authorized " for "our seniors in retirement homes or institutions".

As for the second round of municipal elections, it "may take place in the municipalities concerned, on June 28 ", continues the head of state.

Rebuilding a strong economy and saving jobs

The President of the Republic stressed that if the first priority is "rebuild a strong, ecological, sovereign and united economy", taxes will not increase. "Our country is already one of the heaviest in our tax system, even if for three years we have started to lower it. The only answer is to build a stronger sustainable economic model, to work and to produce more so as not to depend on others.", he said.

Emmanuel Macron wants to avoid layoffs as much as possible. "This is why, with the unions and the employers, we have launched a negotiation so that, in all companies, we manage to preserve as many jobs as possible despite the downturn in activity.", he noted. "We must create new jobs by investing in our technological, digital, industrial and agricultural independence through research, consolidation", he added, adding that this reconstruction must be social and united.

France intractable in the face of racism

The head of state spoke about the discrimination and racism that have resulted in protests all over France in recent days. "We will be intractable in the face of racism, anti-Semitism and discrimination ", he assured. However, he calls for no confusion about the police and racism. He thus wanted to support the police. "We will not build our future any more in disorder, without a republican order. (…) This order, it is the police and the gendarmes on our soil that they insure. They are exposed to daily risks on our behalf. That is why they deserve the support of the public authorities and the recognition of the nation. ", did he declare.
