After iOS 17, we were entitled to iOS 17.1 on compatible iPhones. Since then, the beta phase of iOS 17.2 has started and will lead to a stable version expected in December. Now, Apple releases a surprise update that slips in between the two. This is iOS 17.1.1.

The site MacRumors indeed claims to have found evidence. The iOS 17.1.1 update is therefore currently in preparation and should be deployed to the general public shortly. Everything suggests that this version will mainly be used to correct bugs without having to wait for version 17.2.

What to expect for iOS 17.1.1?

Without being able to be certain, MacRumors raises some plausible avenues as to the problems that should be fixed with iOS 17.1.1. The specialized site suggests, first of all, a patch rectifying the Wi-Fi connectivity problems encountered by certain iPhones. This is a fix that will be integrated into iOS 17.2, but we can assume that Apple did not want to wait until December to offer it.

It is also possible that iOS 17.1.1 will come to the rescue of some iPhones that temporarily turn off during the night. The media also recalls that Apple had promised to repair, before the end of the year, a bug concerning the wireless charging of iPhone 15s in BMW cars. It is entirely possible that this surprise update to version 17.1.1 is affected.

A priorigiven the minor changes that this version would bring, we should expect a deployment of iOS 17.1.1 within one to two weeks.
