What new features are expected?

The event, entitled ‘Let Go’, will mainly focus on the iPad Pro and the iPad Air, without forgetting the Apple Pencil which will benefit from special attention.

iPad Pro

L’iPad Pro should be the star of the day with an OLED screen for the first time, offering better image quality (than the Mini LED) and a potentially thinner tablet.

Apple M4

These new iPad Pros should be equipped of Apple’s first M4 processors, specializing in particular in tasks related to artificial intelligence. This upgrade could represent a response to advances from Microsoft, Nvidia, AMD, Intel and Qualcomm. We have some doubts, all the same, because ced M3 would arrive barely a few months after the release of the M3 chip (October 2023).

This M4 chip would be an SoC with an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) stuffed with growth hormones. The objective? Run a local AI, language model directly on the device. This would guarantee optimal responsiveness, but also enhanced confidentiality, dear to Apple.

iPad Air

The iPad Air will not be outdone with a new larger screen option (12.9 inches, in addition to the 10.9 inches). We expect to find the M2 chip on these iPad Airs.

Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard

Furthermore, theApple Pencil will also undergo a significant update, with the introduction of haptic feedback, a feature that will enrich the interaction with the device. This update, coupled with the introduction of an improved Magic Keyboard, would position the iPad as an increasingly viable alternative to the traditional laptop PC.

In addition to tablets, Apple plans to update its accessories. THE Magic Keyboardfor example, should offer increased durability and a more laptop-like design.

Although AirPods and some less expensive iPads, like the Mini, are not expected at this event, their update would likely be announced later in the year, according to Mark Gurman. As for Macs, despite the introduction of the M4 chip, they probably won’t be discussed in this event, with releases planned for later in the year.
