In ten years of League of Legends, Riot Games has managed to produce over a thousand different skins, the quality of which varies enormously. From first appearances which today seem very old-fashioned to Scalable Ultimate Super Skins with Themed Lineage, we now have access to a panel as wide as it is diverse – but it is clear that not all skins are created equal.
Sure, tastes and colors we can discuss but not exonerate, and the perception as well as the appreciation of each of these appearances vary greatly from player to player. That said, it cannot be denied that it is possible to approach the question in a more or less objective way – or at least collegially, by comparing all these skins with each other in an attempt to determine which one would deserve the Palme d’Or.
Sure, if we had to study all the skins released since 2010 one by one, we could talk for hours – or even many more – to try to provide an answer to this question. That said, few challenges stop Reddit, and spurred on by u / esteticcs, an attempt was nevertheless made.
First, the editor tried to determine via a community vote what was the best skin of each champion, to then apply a methodology that will undoubtedly appeal to all the competitors who tread the Rift: a gigantic tournament tree, in 1v1.
The final goal? Determine which is the best skin of 2021.
And the big winner is …
After eight rounds of voting of unusual intensity – each spread over two days, and having gathered an average of 2,500 votes – the Reddit community managed to reduce the selection, from 157 to 16 skins competing for the most prestigious title. Two main categories caught the eye and the vote of the voters: the skins considered magnificent like Spirit Blossom Ahri Where PROJECT: Mordekaiser, and those who are quick to spark memes, like Moo Cow Alistar Where Pizza Delivery Sivir.
In the end, however, it’s the skin Corporate Mundo who won, and we must recognize that he achieves the perfect alliance between these two visions: it is indeed an appearance as fun as it is well realized – and this since the rework (and the VGU) of the Madman of Zaun.
Fan of Arcane and League of Legends, you will have to take your troubles patiently. Announced for the first patch of the year, the Ekko Firelight skin will be released in our store later. The good news is that the skin is going to be improved.
