WhatsApp is constantly testing new features. Soon, we should benefit from a refreshed and modernized interface regarding audio/video calls.
While you may have just pinned your three favorite conversations on WhatsApp, the messaging system managed by Meta is already preparing yet another new feature. Alongside the highly anticipated voicemail transcription coming soon to Android, this is a new calling interface.
Towards a refreshed WhatsApp interface?
Indeed, over the years, the WhatsApp interface has been refined and modernized, and it should soon offer something new regarding voice calls. So, certainly, during calls, the interface remains very basic, but that does not prevent Meta from wanting to further optimize the user experience.
This will likely involve a redesign of the toolbar, which is displayed at the bottom of the screen during a voice call. Currently, the latter allows you to find a button to call the video, another to deactivate/activate the microphone, a button to put on speakerphone and a last one to hang up.
More visible buttons for a more pleasant user experience
A rather simple and functional interface in short, but which could gain in modernity, according to the latest tests carried out by Meta. Indeed, the new interface notably gets rid of the swipe up function for the buttons, which allows you to add participants.
In addition, the different functionalities are now housed in a single circular rectangle, and the icons have also been reworked, for a more modern look.
Added to this are other small changes, such as switching from an audio call to a video call, again with a clearer interface, allowing you to decline the proposal or, on the contrary, accept it thanks to larger, more visible buttons.
Currently, this new interface is still being tested at WhatsApp and could soon arrive in beta version. The magazine TheSpAndroid indicates that some features are not yet active, as are some funds that are not finalized.
