A new feature, “Community Home“, should be implemented in a future update of WhatsApp. Today, we know more about this new option, and in particular about its community aspect.
“Community Home” : this is the name of a new feature that could land in future WhatsApp updates. For several months, the Meta group (formerly Facebook) has been working on this new tool. But since the last update of the beta version on Android, we know more about the group’s projects.
A community function
This new functionality should allow an administrator to manage the groups for which he is responsible directly from a dedicated interface. Our colleagues from WABetaInfo were able to capture an image of what appears to be the beginnings of “Community Home”. This new feature would allow simplified and more advanced management of WhatsApp groups by their administrators. The ins and outs of this new option have still not been revealed by Meta, the American firm behind WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram.
In its latest beta update, the app now supports two new languages, namely Amharic (spoken by 29 million people in 2015), and Somali (mostly spoken in the Horn of Africa). With these two new features, WhatsApp is now available in 40 different languages. Regarding “Community Home”we will have to wait for a next update to find out more and perhaps know its deployment date.
