WhatsApp for iPhone gets a handy innovation that makes it easier to search for a message. Android fans, on the other hand, have to keep scrolling their fingers sore.

Messenger WhatsApp allows you to search for specific chats as well as for terms within a chat. Now the search of the messenger within a chat is getting an update. On the iPhone, you can now use it to jump to a specific date in the chat history. This comes in handy when you know you talked about a certain topic, say, in early January.
WhatsApp introduces the innovation with the update to version 23.1.75. This has been available for download in the App Store since January 19th. The changelogs state “Now you can jump to a date via the chat search. Tap on ‘Search’ in the contact or group info and select a date using the calendar icon”.
It remains to be seen whether and when the update will be included in the Android version of the messenger. You cannot jump to a specific date here. Instead, you have to continue to laboriously scroll through the chat history.
