The Meta application should in fact be better integrated into another native application in the Google ecosystem, namely “Telephone”.
WhatsApp finds a place in Google’s call log
For a long time now, WhatsApp has allowed millions of users to get news from loved ones, via messages of course, but also voice, or even calls, regardless of whether the latter are video or audio. Over the years, WhatsApp has refined its audio call function, and many people favor this form of VoIP call.
On iOS, WhatsApp also benefits from perfect integration when it comes to the call log. On the users’ side, this makes it possible to clearly display the ” nature » of the call in the log, in order to distinguish calls from cell phones, but also from landlines, or even from a connected doorbell. Calls via WhatsApp are thus identifiable via the mention “ WhatsApp audio “.
A functionality identical to what is already practiced on iOS
A relatively simple functionality in appearance therefore… but unavailable on the Android side. However, this should change soon according to the latest WhatsApp beta on Google’s mobile ecosystem.
Calls made via WhatsApp should in fact, as on iOS, be integrated directly into Google’s call log. A small tag will immediately distinguish an audio call from WhatsApp from a classic audio call.
Such integration of WhatsApp into the Google Phone application will centralize calls, for better user comfort, and will speed up the process of calling loved ones on WhatsApp. You simply need to recall a WhatsApp contact from the call log to make a WhatsApp call, without having to switch to the Meta application.
