- Users will be able to create group events in the future.
- The events can be created using relevant information such as name, date, time and location.
- The feature is under development and will be available in a future update.
As WABetaInfo reports, beta version 2.23.17.7 for Android shows that WhatsApp is currently working on developing a new feature. This should involve creating events for group chats.
Planning and coordinating events
Events can be created using relevant information such as name, date, time and location. They are intended to make planning and coordinating group events easier. In addition, a reminder function can be activated so that all participants receive a notification at a specific time.
The events will be end-to-end encrypted and are initially intended for community group chats only. The feature is currently under development and will be available in a future update.
The feature joins the list of other new WhatsApp functions for planning and coordinating group conversations. Most recently, WhatsApp, with the 2.23.17.7 beta update for Android, introduced a function that makes it possible to make scheduled group calls.
