WhatsApp: multi-account arrives in the Android application

Highly awaited by a large number of users, the functionality allowing you to be connected to two accounts simultaneously on WhatsApp has arrived. Initially present in its beta version on Android, the famous online messaging platform has just introduced it for everyone in its latest update.

A feature expected by professionals

Meta made the announcement in a post published on X. The official WhatsApp account on the social network indicates that a user can now switch between two accounts on the same device.

However, this new feature is reserved for Android smartphone users, at least initially. It is mainly aimed at professionals, who will now be able to use the same phone to switch between an account dedicated to work and their personal account.

In a similar vein, let us cite the case of a service account of an e-commerce store. If it is used by several employees, each person can add it as a second account. Thus, any individual connected to this professional account will be able to read and respond to messages on their own smartphone thanks to the new functionality of switching between accounts.

To access this new option, the user must first ensure that they have the latest version of WhatsApp on their Android smartphone. Adding a second account is done in the WhatsApp settings menu, in the account settings section.
