The first novelty is therefore the possibility of leaving a group discussion in complete discretion. Currently, a user who decides to leave a group notifies all participants of his departure. From now on, only the administrator will be informed.
You can also control who sees you are online. Currently, you can choose to have everyone see your activity… or no one. You can then choose who can and cannot see your connections.
WhatsApp specified that these two new features will be rolled out from the end of August.

WhatsApp also announced that a new feature is being tested, the purpose of which is to block screenshots. This option, soon available for users of the messaging tool, will allow the sender to protect the photo sent against the recipient’s screenshots.
Just over a year ago, WhatsApp launched the “single view” feature, which allows users to make sent photos disappear once they’ve been opened.
The screenshot blocking function is part of the same line of protection of user data, in particular preventing them from having their photos saved permanently.
