WhatsApp has been working for several months on its compatibility on different types of devices. A new WhatsApp Desktop application for Windows was thus offered in beta version last year. It now benefits from a new practical feature.

WhatsApp regularly works to improve its various versions, both on mobile and PC. The all-new WhatsApp Desktop app for Windows, which is still in beta, was released late last year on the official app store. It is possible for all Windows 10 and 11 users to download the application in Universal Windows Platform (UWP) version from the Microsoft Store.

WhatsApp therefore continues to work on this desktop version by adding fixes and new features. After a redesign of the interface, it is now the turn of the functions around emojis to be enriched. WABetaInfo has thus spotted the addition of keyboard shortcuts for emojis in the latest version of the application, 2.2206.1.0.
This is certainly a fairly standard function on messaging applications. It can be found for example on Slack or on Discord.

This shortcut function allows you to type the name of an emoji (or a term associated with it), preceded by a colon (:). A toolbar is then displayed to offer all the emojis corresponding to the term.
This is a very useful function to save time and avoid going through the entire menu of emojis, but also, and above all, for those who do everything from their keyboard.
