WhatsApp outage: messaging confirms a problem and is working on a solution for everyone

WhatsApp is slowly recovering from an outage in France, according to several reports. A breakdown that we noted in the editorial office. It would also have affected Instagram, particularly in terms of media uploads.

  • Updated at 9:00 p.m. : WhatsApp finally communicated about the outage, affirming, unsurprisingly, that the teams were working to restore service for “100% of users”

WhatsApp is down. On Wednesday April 3, around 8:15 p.m., WhatsApp instant messaging went down. The messages reel without reaching their recipients and the web version displays an error message: “Service unavailable”. Laconic in its communication, the Meta group (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger) has suffered large-scale outages in recent months, particularly on Instagram and Facebook.

The DownDetector site confirms a rather dazzling spike in reports for WhatsApp, which leaves no room for doubt: the service has definitely fallen for an indefinite period.

Big problems for Meta in early March… and early April

At the beginning of March, the Meta group was the victim of a giant outage which brought down Instagram and Facebook for many hours. The problem was with the connection module, which had requested false information from members, in particular to change a password for obscure reasons. Change was ultimately impossible.

The outage seems, on April 3, to be global, given the number of comments in English attesting concern about X. Obviously, the mockery is rife, Internet users not missing a reason to cut down Mark Zuckerberg’s services.

One reaction particularly amuses the social network specializing in gossip: WhatsApp, barely 2 hours ago, published a message congratulating the “ people who pinned the conversation to themselves to find it ”, aimed at people who use WhatsApp as a notepad or sticky note. Everyone responds to the joke by mentioning the fact that it is no longer possible to access this function.
