Messenger WhatsApp has appeared in a new version for Android phones. The update to the version has been available since January 17th 2.23.1.76 available for download from Google Play and comes with a revised camera app, among other things. This contains a practical innovation for recording videos.

“From now on you can swipe left in the WhatsApp camera to record videos hands-free,” says the changelog. Because with a swipe of your finger you can now switch between video and photo mode in the WhatsApp camera. Previously, however, you had to hold down the shutter button to record a video, which could be very tedious for longer recordings. Instead of swiping your finger to the left, you can alternatively tap the “Video” button at the bottom of the screen.

In addition to the new WhatsApp camera, the update also brings the following new features:

A new icon will soon appear in the app as well. Behind this is a function that you have certainly wanted for a long time when sharing photos. However, note this warning that is now displayed when sharing media.
