WhatsApp: This is how you can listen to your voice messages before sending them

Some hate WhatsApp’s voice messages, but many love it. Now this feature has been improved and NextPit shows you in this guide how you can listen to your voice messages again before sending them.

  • WhatsApp now allows you to listen to voice messages again before sending them
  • The new function is available for iOS and Android

WhatsApp’s voice messages are very popular as they offer more options than some of the competing messenger apps. For example, unlike Facebook Messenger, there is no time limit for recording. In the meantime, you can also change the playback speed on WhatsApp, see whether they have been tapped and a lot more.

This time WhatsApp has added a new function that allows you to listen to your voice messages again before sending them. In the following we give you the steps that you have to carry out in order to listen to a voice message again before sending it:

  1. Press and hold the microphone button to start recording as usual.
  2. Swipe up to fixate the record button.
  3. When you’re done, tap the stop button in the middle.
  4. Press the play button to listen to your message again.
  5. If you like it, all you have to do is send it.

Just in case, you can get the step-by-step tutorial here again graphically:

The new function is really easy to use and should appeal to those who – like me – often hesitate to delete a failed but already sent message so as not to cause discomfort. From now on you can always send what you have received with full conviction.

As always with new functions, it will probably take a while until this function has reached all WhatsApp users on iOS and Android. Normally you should be able to use the feature with the update to the latest version.

What do you think of this new WhatsApp feature? Are you one of those people who listen to their own “Sprachis” again? Discuss this with us in the comments.
