If you want to record a voice message on WhatsApp and send it later, you will quickly reach the limits of the messenger. We’ll show you how to do it anyway.
Instead of typing for a long time, many of you prefer to send a voice message on WhatsApp. But you don’t always want to send them off immediately. At first glance, however, the messenger does not offer the option of saving voice messages and sending them later. But that is deceptive. There are even several ways to do this. We present them to you!
Possibility 1: Pause the recording of the voice message
With WhatsApp you have the option of pausing the recording of a voice message and continuing it later. The paused recording remains saved even if you leave the chat. So you can first record your voice message in peace and then pause the recording. At the desired time, you open the chat again, end the recording and send the voice message.
In our test, the recording was even saved when we closed WhatsApp on the iPhone and kicked it out of the task manager. However, it may also be that the recording is lost after closing the app, this depends on the storage behavior of your smartphone. This method is therefore particularly suitable if you do not want to send the recording with too much delay.
Option 2: Record a voice message externally and share it later
- 1
Alternatively, you can also record your voice message with a recorder app and later share it via WhatsApp. All you have to do is press the paper clip in the respective chat and then the “Audio” button.
- 2
Then select your audio recording and send it off.
In other tutorials, we will also show you how you can convert voice messages into text or listen to them in public without being disturbed.
